The initiative
We develop the Dialograum format, support the people who want to host one, and publish the results.
What we are working towards
Our society is being pulled apart. On many questions people talk about each other rather than with each other, and across every milieu the feeling of not being heard is growing. We believe that changes when people listen to one another again. A Dialograum provides a setting for that.
What we can promise is deliberately modest: that people will be listened to. Whether common ground emerges is decided by the conversation, not by us.
A Dialograum in four steps
Invitation
An organisation invites us, or decides to host a Dialograum itself. The first move is always yours.
Topics
The hosts propose possible topics. The participants decide what is actually discussed, and can bring their own questions.
Conversation
Two people accompany the conversation: one facilitates, one observes. A few simple rules apply, above all this one: let people finish.
Result
What came out of the conversation is written down and published, so that it does not stay in the room.
We do not host the Dialogräume ourselves
A Dialograum belongs to the people who are there. We develop the format, support the facilitation and publish the results. It is hosted by those who know the place and the people.
What we hold to
Non-partisan
We belong to no party and no political camp. Our basis is the German constitution.
Easy to join
No prior knowledge, no course enrolment, not an educational event. A conversation.
On equal footing
Everyone has the same claim to speaking time and to respect. The quiet ones too.
On the record
What was discussed is documented and published.
